The Astra Coupé produced by Opel partner Bertone in Grugliasco near Turin continues the long Opel coupé tradition established by models like the Opel GT, the Manta and most recently the Calibra.
With the Astra Cabrio Opel has introduced an elegant, sporty highlight in the convertible segment. It is produced on the same assembly line as the Astra Coupé by Bertone.

The top engine available on this sporty and elegant two-door is the 2.0-liter turbo with 192 hp. It accelerates in 7.5 seconds from a standstill to 100 km/h and almost effortlessly on to a top speed of 245 km/h. All Coupé versions come with darkened tail-lights and a chrome strip along the lip of the trunk lid. The entry-level version includes light alloy wheels (6J x 16), sport seats, power windows and an asymmetrically split rear-seatback with a load-through hatch as standard equipment. Safety features include front and side airbags, Active Head Restraints, the Pedal Release System, ABS and the TC Plus traction control system. All Coupé versions also boast ESP (Electronic Stability Program) as standard equipment.		The new Opel Astra Cabrio is the first convertible in its class to offer the convenience of an automatic soft-top as standard. Pressing the appropriate button on the center console will fold the top up and disappears into its recessed metal compartment within 30 seconds. For even more luxury, an optional remote control is available for the sturdy, heat-insulating soft top that makes the fully equipped two-door convertible suitable for everyday, year-round driving. Technically, the newcomer is largely identical to its sister model the Astra Coupé Turbo.The Astra Cabrio meets the most stringent safety demands. The foundation is a body designed to deliver a high level of torsional rigidity.
