Presented at the Paris Motor Show, this concept is built to express the most emotional side of the Opel brand. The three-door hatch is pure but sporty, simple but expressive and at the same time bold and iconic. Keeping in line with Opel’s DNA, it is an achievable dream car, conceived to showcase an energized brand.

The Opel Flextreme GT/E concept visualizes the qualities that characterize the re-energized Opel brand: High emotional appeal, efficient environmental performance and expressive design – engineered with German precision.

The unique rear-hinged rear doors of the Meriva make it easier to get into and out of the rear seat. FlexDoors^® also provide greater safety, especially for young families. The new FlexRail^® centre console turns the space between the front seats into a variable storage system.

Insignia is launched with a wide array of innovations. The Opel Eye is a small wide-angle, high-resolution on-board camera reads road signs and lane markings, thus improving driving safety. The FlexRide adaptive suspension system reacts instantly to changing conditions and adapts to driving style. AFL⁺, the next generation of Adaptive Forward Lighting automatically adjusts to conditions, ensuring safer and more relaxed driving. The ergonomic seats get the AGR seal of approval which is a special distinction for quality given by an independent panel of ergonomics experts and doctors.

The FlexFix^® rear carrier system simply slides out from the rear bumper, so it doesn’t take up storage space in your garage or home. Fist featured on the Corsa, later on Insignia, Astra and Meriva.

The Astra GTC is the first series vehicle available with a panorama windshield extending from the hood to the B pillar. This innovative windshield offers driver and front seat passenger an almost unlimited field of vision and creates a whole new sense of space.

Flex7 seating system in the Opel Zafira. Beginning with the Zafira, Opel decides that interior flexibility should be an essential feature in the design of each of its cars.

Opel raises safety levels by making full-size airbags for driver and front passenger standard equipment in all carlines.

Opel is first European manufacturer to offer three-way catalytic converters as standard on all gasoline models, thus helping to reduce noxious exhaust emissions.

Omega makes its début with the best drag coefficient in its class, at 0.28. It also features a wide range of innovations, including the new active safety chassis that gives it unprecedented stability. The Omega is elected Car of the Year 1987.
