A 1.6 liter ECOTEC
turbo engine with 175 hp and maximum torque of
210 Newton meters provides the power for this new Opel Performance
Car. This new concept engine enables the Corsa OPC
to achieve a top speed of 225 km/h and to accelerate
from zero to 100 in just 7.9 seconds.
The DSA (Dynamic Safety) sport chassis was specially
tuned and the body lowered by 25 millimeters to make for agile handling
with high safety reserves.
An aerodynamic kit with impressive looking front and rear bumpers,
color-keyed wheel arches and side sills and 17-inch alloy
wheels (215/40 R 17) in the classic OPC design, give the
Corsa OPC a distinctively dynamic look. |
The high performance
sports models, Astra OPC and Astra OPC station wagon, are powered
by the 192 hp, 2.0 ECOTEC turbo
engine which make speeds of more than 230 km/h possible. Thanks
to rapidly available torque of up to 250 Newton meters, the four-cylinder,
four-valve power unit provides the two Astra top models with excellent
sprint capabilities.
The high-revving, high-tech engine with a very
compact, integrated turbo system offers maximum
torque from 1950 rpm up and accelerates the Astra from zero to 100
km/h in under 8 sec. The four-valve motor also helps the two top-of-the
line Astra models to produce maximum speeds of 240 km/h
(station wagon: 231 km/h), qualifying them for the sports car league.

The Zafira OPC’s exceptionally dynamic performance derives
from its 2.0 16V ECOTEC four-cylinder engine. With its integral
turbocharger system, this engine has supreme reserves
of pulling power. The Zafira OPC’s torque curve, for instance,
reaches its maximum of 250 Nm at an engine speed of only 1950
rpm, and maintains this high level up to almost 5400 rpm.
The DSA (Dynamic Safety) suspension is perfectly
matched to the Zafira OPC’s extra power. The 16-inch
brake system has disks all round (308 mm diameter ventilated
at the front, 264 mm diameter at the rear) and 7.5 x 17 alloy
wheels with 225/45 R 17 tires. An electronic
stability program (ESP) with integral TC Plus traction control
is standard.
