Opel has developed a new oil to fulfil its new requirements. dexos2™ is the new green high-performance oil from Opel. It is mandatory for the latest generation of Opel vehicles and is also the best choice for all previous models.
Specification: high performance and low fuel consumption
5W-30 dexos2™ engine oil is fully compatible with gasoline catalytic converters (CAT). 5W-30 dexos2™ provides exceptional cleaning power while ensuring overall engine and wear protection. As a Mid-SAPS lubricant (lowered sulphated ash, phosphorous and sulphur content), it contributes to improved fuel economy and reduced CO2 emissions.

Warranty
Your engine should be filled with approved dexos2™ oil available from your local Opel Authorized Repairer. The use of inferior specification oil may have a detrimental effect on engine life, performance and your warranty.
Check your oil levels regularly
Modern engineering has reduced oil consumption to a minimum, but we recommend you check the oil level regularly between oil change intervals. Here’s how:
- Ensure that your Opel is on a level surface.
- The engine must be warm but switched off for about five minutes.
- Open your car’s bonnet to check the dipstick (it usually has a bright-coloured top).
- Remove the dipstick, wipe it clean and put it back into the stop on the handle and screw it down loosely.
- Remove the dipstick again and check the engine oil level.
- If the engine oil is at or close to the MIN mark on the dipstick, you need to refill the oil. Between the MIN and MAX mark there is space for one litre of engine oil.
- We recommend using the same oil grade and quality as was filled previously.
- Don’t forget to put the dipstick back in place.
- After refilling, fit the cap on straight and tighten it.
Please note: The engine oil must not exceed the MAX mark on the dipstick. Too much oil in your engine is as bad as too little. Overfilling could even result in damage to the catalytic converter. It is best to check your oil level regularly at every second stop at a petrol station.
